Plastic smiles ?
Scribbled on Tuesday, June 24th, 2008We wear masks while meeting people. We try to pretend, just for the sake of society ? or for our own advantage ? Is it the desire to posses something ? Is it competition ? Is it our mechanized life ?
Childhood was so pure and joyous. We laughed without plastic smiles. What happened now ?
I try to be genuine on my front, but still its not cent percent. I hope people will grow out of it, society will be more open. I hope that more people will be frank about their feelings.

Fake smiles are very very predominant nowadays… It’s disgusting to see ppl do that.. There’s one female in my office, who walks in to office every day with a huge fake smile and says a loud “Helllllewwww!” and shuts herself in her room all day!

Arre dude, just go into a room once in a while and do the same, a fake smile and a hello. Will work wonders. Just make sure she is not your boos or sleeping with your boss, can get you fired.

Man…, our true self is like a pizza base and we put different toppings on it to lure different people… so… unless the base is not stale and the toppings are tasty, it will be good both for u and for the world… no matter u lie of joke or cry or laugh….

To be sincere about own feelings it’s not easy, so everyone wear a mask on their faces. Beh. All this for me is very stupid, without a sense. Why this? ’cause we’re becoming too liar!!

The stupid thing is that the other person knows that its fake and just a formality, and you know that there is no real warmth in greetings. Just give a compliment and your job is over.

Sometimes I think what if this all will lead to a ruthless cunning me. I want to be the same genuine person which I was and probably I am. Why can’t people reflect as you do on them.

I agree with harsha completely. Nothing in this world is as it seems it is. There is always a catch. When we put on fake smiles or any other fake emotions, it can be for our own benifit. But think of it this way. When your spouse is very depressed about something and you have a dreadful day at work, putting on a fake smile might make your spouse feel better. On the contrary, imagine you shout at your spouse; it is sure to make them even more depressed or angry on you. This is just an example however.
PS: I like your blog. This is the second post I read. But keep up the good work. AWESOME!
