8 Oscars are a part of Congress regime - Oh really ?

Scribbled on Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Apparently Congress’s new tactic to lure votes is to blatantly claiming that 8 Oscars bagged by Slumdog Millionaire is indeed an achievement due to Congress efforts. I can see how it is an achievement but before that lets dissect some statements made by the officials…

“They represent the finest traditions of our film industry and are an inspiration to all of us,” Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said

Inspiration like what ? Remember when story ends it says that the Guy won millions because it was already written in his fate. If going by the same logic we can assume that there is no need to work or do anything as everything is already written by someone almighty in your life, you cannot change your fate.

Tradition like what ? Tradition of mafioso, corruption, regionalism, riots, child molestation, poverty glorification, blind love and el cheapo dance numbers ?

Her party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi went a few steps ahead and termed Slumdog Millionaire “a film of India, for India , by India”

Yes its a film on India but it is not of India, for India and by India.

Of India…..NOT…..because it really is only a section of India which you can see in other countries too…i.e. poverty. It’s the failure of  human kind worldwide that we are in a unbalanced system laid on the very foundation of debt and stratification.

For India….NOT…..I think people apart from Indians enjoyed (or ridiculed ) it more and any Indian who has seen enough of these kinda movies will simply annotate it as an OKish movie.

By India…NOT….at this point I can assume that the demarcation between the definition of Democracy and a movie has been dissolved. This movie was directed by a British director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later etc).

and talked about the “conducive atmosphere with emphasis on good governance contributing to an achieving India”.

Sorry but I saw a lot more progress when BJP ruled India. Though I won’t claim that BJP is the best solution for India but certainly a lot better than Congress.

Singhvi raised a toast to the film’s music director, A R Rahman , calling him a “wonderful symbol of India” and embodiment of Indian nationalism.

I would rather know an artist by his work than his ethnicity . Nationalism and every other kind of -lism is inherently a propaganda to keep us divided, we the people of one big empty Universe.

Unable to wait for the Oscar moment to slip away, the spokesman sought to put the good story in perspective by contrasting it with what he projected as the BJP’s disruptive politics. “There are parties drawing us back to the dark ages,” he said.

Sorry to say but recently in Congress regime we are experiencing same thing. With passage of time Internet should have been a necessity  but we went 2 steps forward and three steps backward by limiting the unlimited plans in name of Unfair Fair Usage Policy. Remind you that technology only can save us but we are still on measly 256kbps lines when it comes to Internet - the single largest media which has made us a collective consciousness.

Addendum

So it seems that we are very proud of showing poverty, child exploitation, corruption, crime and never ending love sagas in an overly dramatic manner which feels like almost a grim fairy tale. Of course this is counted as an achievement for illiterate people to get more votes by showing the number of achievements.
I rest my case here !
