Tata Indicom’s Fair Usage Policy Sucks !

So the trend of capping bandwidth in UNLIMITED plans have gained momentum. The next ISP to apply Fair Usage Policy is Tata Indicom. Sure the bandwidth caps are better compared to Airtel but their terms are slightly user unfriendly as they can suspend your UNLIMITED connection if you go past the bandwidth limit. Also you will get constant reminders from Customer Care people about how you are doing with your bandwidth and whether you should upgrade your plan or not. Such a bloody disgusting thing !

Here is what I think. It is good to have bandwidth cap only if your infrastructure is providing acceptable speeds at reasonable prices. But as we know that in India 256kbps is the standard speed of broadband and that too at a premium price. So there is no point in already torturing consumers with their pathetic infrastructures just to milk out consumers and hide their incompetency to provide good broadband plans. Airtel and Tata Indicom can suck my *beep* for that. And why do they still label them as UNLIMITED plan at the same price before ?

Data transfer in excess of Fair Usage Limit as per the applicable tariff plan shall be treated as a violation of TCISL FUP.

Upon such violation of FUP, TCISL shall contact the Customer suggesting for reduction in usage or upgrade to a higher bandwidth plan.

Despite the above, if the customer fails to upgrade to a high speed plan or continue to violate the TCISL FUP, TCISL reserves the right to suspend or terminate the customer’s account immediately without prejudice to other rights available to TCISL under these Terms and Conditions
